Image via WikipediaJust between you, me, & the gate post, I never thought I'd keep it up for this long. When I started, I asked myself, do I even know enough family stories? Oh, sure, there were ones I'd remembered. Ones I'd been told. But I wondered if I could come up with a "story" from just a few facts that I had found out through researching. Was that even possible? Was it going to sound too dry? Were people even going to care or want to read them?
Well, I started writing them anyway, and I think I have my answers. Yes, stories can be made with just a few facts. And they're not dry. And people like to read them. People like you. [Which is good because I'm pretty sure my family doesn't read my blogs. In fact, I know they don't because they'll ask me a question, and my reply is always, "Well, if you read my blog, you'd know the answer, but I'll tell you anyway because I'm just so excited and thankful that you even care enough to ask..." *rolling eyes heavenward*]
So, THANK YOU for reading. While I can keep writing even if no one reads them, it's infinitely more fun with y'all reading them. I hope they inspire or motivate you to research and write about your own family's stories.
Because if you don't, who will?
So, let's get this party started 'cause Family Stories turns 2 today!!! Pick up a glass. And here's a toast [and an Irish blessing]:

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
Happy Blogiversary, Caroline!

Congratulations. I couldn't agree with you more about writing stories with few facts. Give me a fact, or the scent of a fact, and I'm off and running. Nothing like imagining. And, thank you, Caroline.
