My All-Time Fave Carol

I think I might have mentioned before that I was born and raised in an area of Texas that is tropical.  T-R-O-P-I-C-A-L.  And the dream of a white Christmas was just that.  A dream.  And maybe that's why the movie White Christmas is my favorite all-time favorite classic movie.  And maybe that's why my all-time favorite carol is White Christmas.

And come to think of it, I've yet to have a truly white Christmas.  So all of y'all who are sick of the white stuff, remember that as I'm sunning myself in this nearly perfect weather and sipping on a Mai Tai, I'm listening to Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney and dreaming of a white Christmas. *snort*

  1. Love White Christmas and Bing Crosby. Your post sent me to YouTube in search of my fav: Secret of Christmas. Oddly, my favorite version has no moving parts, so YouTube is a funny place for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FePF_W43_zA

  2. I love White Christmas as well. When I was in high school, my brother bought me a copy of the 78 rpm record and framed it against a backdrop of pictures of Bing Crosby. It was one of my favorite presents!
By the way, I would be happy to send you some of the snowflakes that are piled up outside my door!

  3. This Texan actually did grow up longing for cold, white stuff. After Southern California and Texas, during my first fall in college in Washington, DC - we had snow in October. It was wonderful.

  5. Hi Caroline, did you know that White Christmas was first used in the film Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire? That's one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies.

I'm not a fan of the white stuff you refer to as snow. What little we get in Northwest Arkansas is too much for me. Ugh.

BTW - I've given you the Ancestor Approved Award: http://www.missyfrye.net/gblog/?p=492
